On Beat Drum Ministry

The On Beat ministry of Selma Baptist Church is a ministry that teaches children the power of perseverance through the principles found in the Scriptures and by learning how to play beats on the drums. 

When they come to be a part of the ministry, after school, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, it’s not just to bang on drums and eat a snack, but to learn how to persevere by doing something that’s hard, and seeing they can do it if they try and do their best. By learning this character trait it will eventually pour over into their academics, sports, relationships, and eventually the workforce and their home-lives. 

Life is tuff, especially for children growing up in today’s social media driven culture. They need a strong foundation that will enable them to overcome these challenges. Our On Beat ministry is equipping them to do that.
